Description

This ad is for 2 teapots, both are marked from Sheffield England & made from Robert & Belk. One does have DH5 stamped on the bottom the other has DH6 stamped on it. One have a dent in the spout & a small ding on the side. The other is in excellent condition. The handles are wooden. I did wipe them down with a small amount of oil to clean them up prior to taking the photos. Here's some history I can find on the manufacturer. Roberts & Belk changed hands a number of times, the original firm was known as Furniss, Poles & Turner (est 1809). The company was taken over by Roberts & Slater in 1845, followed by Roberts & Briggs in 1859. Lastly, Roberts & Belk took over in 1864. The company was initially based in Sheffield which manufactured silver & EPNS hollware flatware & cutlery. Their trade mark being the 'Roman Lamp'. By 1883 they also had an office in London. in 1901 the firm became Roberts & Belk Ltd which was also when the company opened a branch in Australia. in 1961 the firm was sold to the London silversmiths C.J.Vander. During WWI Roberts & Belk manufactured electro-tinned spoons to export to the troops. The company were well renowned for their craftsmanship of silver & they existed for just under 100 years. Their advertising stated a guaranteed for 50 years on their cutlery, & we can certainly state that they last the test of time. Please view all the photos for yourself to see the overall condition! If you have any questions please ask! I take great pride in my collection & will package it very well! 2x Silverplated Teapots By Roberts & Belk From Sheffield England, Dh5, Dh6
