1910s Belgian Sculptor Victor Rousseau (1865-1954) Regulus Statue. Signed. Titled in French Depart de Pêche. Material: Regulus with patina. Pedestal of wood. Measurements: high 15 1/2" x large 5" (approximately). Good general condition. Just the normal signs of the old age. Sold in pre-owned, vintage condition. Signed in the base. Artist's brass label with name & title in the pedestal. Artist: Victor Rousseau ( Belgium b.1875 d.1954). Victor Rousseau studied at the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts of Brussels. His teacher was George Houtstont. in 1890 Rousseau won the Price Godecharle. He traveled in England, Italy & France. Back in Belgium he worked in the artist's studio of the sculptor Charles Van Der Stappen. After 1901 he was teacher at the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts of Brussels & then became Director for long time.
