Description

An incredible Art Deco pavé set diamond brooch with hand-sawn & engraved details & over 2 carats of transitional & single cut diamonds in platinum. This is a masterful piece of American craftsmanship with every detail attended to & each diamond perfectly set. The symmetry & precision of this piece is remarkable & quintessentially "Deco." The brooch is approx. 1 3/4 inches long with a slight steppe-style frame with milgrain detail. The center of the brooch holds the three largest diamonds in floating, bezeled heads. These three stones are transitional cut & total approx. .94 ctw. They are centered in an elongated, octagonal frame with single cut details. The remainder of the brooch is sectioned into tidy compartments, some neatly diamond-filled (there are fifty-six additional diamonds across the rest of the brooch), & others pierced with slivers of open work. The most stunning part of this piece (to me!) are the four hand-carved French curves unfurling across the four corners. I also appreciate the "topography" of this piece, with portions slightly raised or arched above the main body of the brooch. This would be a beautiful bridal accessory, worn either as a brooch or as a pendant (as pictured). Trombone style clasp. Note: This piece comes with appraisal paperwork for insurance/replacement. You may select to have this piece shipped alone or with a platinum chain in the drop down menu.
