Our new set, Fractions with Degrees Activity Set, consists of a wooden graduated ring with 360 degrees, ten wooden circles with the fractional parts 1/1 to 1/10, & task cards. Fractions with Degrees brings together multiple skills & creates meaningful mathematical connections in the children's mind. They learn that fractional parts have angle measurements. For example, 1/8 is equal to 45 degrees. They use task cards to work with fractions within all four arithmetic processes -, x, ÷). Finally, after adding, subtraction, multiplying, or dividing fractions, children determine the names of the new angles they formed (acute, right, obtuse, straight, complete).
