His bold use of color & loose brushstroke create panoramas of movement & expression. After leaving Damascus in 1978, the artist moved to Vienna, where he began to study & become influenced by European impressionism. He has painted everything from the fields of Provence to the coast of Greece & the canals of Venice. Malva has even ventured into more abstract expressionism. His artwork is in numerous public an private collections world wide. He worked as a graphic artist for the Syrian press, where he also wrote articles on an artistic criticism. He settled in Vienna in 1978 & was awarded Austrian nationality. He was a member of the General Federation of Austrian Artists, & a member of the Künstlerhaus - Wien. Hamdi's works are widely exhibited in art galleries, including the Arnot Gallery in New York, which acted as a representative gallery for his works. His works are acquired by art collectors & dealers, art galleries & exhibitions, museums, banks & Ministries of Culture. Many of his works have been printed as postcards & posters by several publishing houses & are distributed in several countries. His life was devoted to full-time artistic work.
