Description

In April 1964, Eastman Kodak announced a new 8mm film standard: Super 8. This standard had a larger image size than regular 8, & the film was contained in an easy-to-handle cartridge. The new standard severely impacted other manufacturers. Sales of regular 8-type 8mm cameras in the market dropped drastically, & development of regular 8 cameras was cancelled immediately, even for models nearly completed. Canon developed its first Super 8 model: the Zoom 518 Super 8. This camera was the first movie camera to use ABS on its exterior, which later became standard. The zoom lens was the same as that of the Cine Zoom 512, marketed in June 1964, except for the rear group, which was newly developed to adapt to the Super 8 format. This was also the first movie camera to employ the TTL (Through-The-Lens) system for light measuring. Beautiful small & powerful 8mm movie camera, in great working condition, all functions are tested & working properly Lens is clean no scratches no fungus, viewfinder is clean & bright , light meter is working correctly it comes with a lens hood, canon lens cap some manuals & an unused cartridge of expired film comes with original canon leather case & original box see sample footage made with this camera : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FHxErt8p-U&ab_channel=SvenMack 8mm Movie Camera Zoom 518 Super 8 Excellent Condition
