8" x 12" enlargement print of InkTree's "Come stay with us at The Overlook" postcard (original here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/729040276/the-overlook-hotel-postcard), inspired by Stephen King's fictional Overlook Hotel. The hotel, isolated in the Colorado Rockies, is the primary setting of the book THE SHINING. It is also mentioned in MISERY & the television miniseries CASTLE ROCK, & is a place of importance in DOCTOR SLEEP, sequel to THE SHINING. This item is designed with an "in-universe" style. This means that it looks like something a person could really buy at the Overlook Hotel. It is completely book-accurate, from the exterior depiction matching the real Stanley Hotel (which inspired King's book) right down to the claw-foot tub, pink shower curtain, hedge animals, & roque (croquet) mallets. These details all differ greatly from Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation, but an enlargement of the version paying homage to that film will be available soon. Images in the letters include: hedge animals, room keys, the old Otis elevator, roque/croquet set, the hotel lobby seating area, the Colorado lounge bar, a bathroom like that from room 217, & the hotel's central staircase. Please note that these enlarged prints do NOT feature back-printing like a regular postcard, as they are too large to mail & meant for display purposes only. If you would like a version with postcard back-printing, message me & I will set up a special item sale for an additional $1 surcharge per print (to cover ink & sealant costs). All of InkTree's postcard enlargements are made with high-resolution image files printed on the same 100-lb cover cardstock used for our postcards. After printing, the printed side is sealed with a lightweight protective sealant that makes the image moisture & UV resistant. While it's not recommended you go swimming with them or leave them out in the desert sun, they will definitely hold up to years spent in a picture frame hanging in a sunny room. However, it is NOT recommended that you "dry mount" these prints, as doing so may damage the image. This would be a great addition to any horror collection, whether your own or as a gift to a fellow human you enjoy.
