This rare original painting depicts a beautiful landscape of Greece's coast with a village sitting tucked nicely between the water & hills. Signed in the low center "A. Kanatas" this painting is wonderfully housed in a gold wood frame & double matting measuring 16.5 x 19.5 inches while the painting watercolor measures 9 x 12 inches & is in pristine condition! This painting has excellent full provenance including a bill of sale from April of 1986 from Domenic Demeri Gallery of Rockport, Massachusetts for $575 then later framed in North Hollywood, California. in addition there is the Greek customs form showing this Kanatas watercolor was exported to the U.S.A. in May of 1985. Not only is the painting included in this sale but also his artbook of photographs which is written both in Greek & English. This is a rare painting by a wonderful artist whose originals rarely surface.
