A large piece of rare purple Stichtite. It contains a nice mix of the purple Stichtite & green Serpentine. It is very hard to find pieces this big for sale as most are broken up and/or polished to maximise its value. This specimen was mined in the late 1970's & has been in storage ever since. It is from Stichtite Hill, Dundas, Zeehan, Tasmania, Australia It measures 140x78x38mm & weighs 352g Stichtite is a rare carbonate mineral found only in a few locations worldwide most notably in Tasmania & South Africa. It is always found in conjunction with Serpentine (usually green) & is usually all intergrown. in Australia there are 5 main workings all in the Dundas area of the Zeehan District. Stichtite Hill is the type locality & the most worked area at present. However it also has been mined at Serpentine Hill, Nevada Creek, West Comet & Birches Inlet (on Macquarie Harbour, about 100km south of Dundas). The name Atlantisite has been given to specimens showing a good mix of the green Serpentine & the purple Stichtite although, as this is a trademarked term, it can apply only to certain of the Tasmanian rocks. Around 95% of Stichtite specimens sold worldwide come from the Tasmanian deposits. Most orders ship with Slovenija Post although some heavier items can ship with a courier. Delivery to some countries will require a signature on arrival. Delivery Times: Standard Postage within the EU should take 3-7 days & to the UK around 7 days. Standard Postage to the USA & the rest of the world generally takes around 10 days. Delivery times are APPROxIMATE & outside of our control. in particular customs delays are possible. The tracking will show data from Slovenija Post & then the postal carrier in your country but not in between the two. Therefore, it does not show whilst the package is being processed by customs, only once it is released to your national carrier. Packaging: We have safely shipped over 35,000 orders worldwide over the years with virtually no damage. Whilst we will recycle packaging materials where possible, the key priority is protection, & we pride ourselves on doing that extremely well. Returns: Within the EU returns can be made within 14 days for any reason. Once the goods have been safely received by us, we will issue a full refund.
