This is an original, antique, bevel-matted engraving, from an old newspaper, HARPER'S WEEKLY, published in 1863. The prints in this series are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger & far more enduring than the newspaper we know today. The print is matted in an off-white acid free matte & is backed by a black acid free back-board which is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, but which should be kept with the print when framed. No tears, creasing or folds. A really fine image. Excellent definition. Nice clean, sharp lines. This print is about 160 years old & guaranteed to be original. It's an authentic old print from the aforementioned publication, & NOT A REPRODUCTION. The print is about 10" x 15" (including the border around the print). Matted the print measures 16" x 20". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frameno costly custom frames required. About The Mats All of our prints are bevel matted in a very high quality, simple off-white/ivory matting. The backing, WHICH IS NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, also meets the same high quality standard.
