Description

Gorgeous porcelain duo candlestick holder decorated with hand formed delicate pink rose blossoms & green leaves by Karl Ens of Germany. Candle holder was made in Thuringia, near Volkstedt, prior to the separation of Germany following WWII. Made in the style of Dresden China, glossy glazed flowers are gradient shades of pink with green serrated leaves. Base is marked with the older green windmill mark used from 1919-1945. Model No., 7073, is embossed into the porcelain base. Karl Ens, Jr. left the family business in 1899 to found Porzellenfabrik Karl Ens. The factory was nationalized by East Germany in 1972 & changed names, but was later privatized again in 1990. 2-arm Candlestick Holder No. 7073, 1919-1945 Green Mark by Porzellenfabrik Karl Ens, Rudolstadt, Germany SIZE: 7 1/8" tall x 9" wide CONDITION: Very Good - I examined entire piece under magnification & found 2 chips underneath one bobeche (this was likely in-manufacture); 1 small petal tip chip (mostly on underside), 1 pinhead under 1 petal. I may have missed something, but it would have to be tiny. Chips do not affect usefulness & are difficult to spot. See closeup photos.
