King James I of England holds the distinction of having his name on the English version of the Holy Bible. Of course, it was he who commissioned his scholars to translate it into English. Until then, it only existed in Latin. This splendid rendering of the King reading his new Bible is a magnificent testament to James I & his achievement. The figure is from the STUARTS SERIES by Royal Doulton of England. It was created by artist Douglas V. Tootle in 1996 in a limited edition. It measures 9" high & is in mint condition.
