Peel off the paper backing on each applique piece. Use a hot dry iron, then press down the applique (this will activate the adhesive on the applique) on the background of your choice. The applique can be used on fabric, wood, metal, painted walls, & many other surfaces. Normally the adhesive will not damage painted surfaces even after prolonged use.
