Camelot Chess Set with leather wooden Chess Board. The legend is that from Camelot, King Arthur successfully defended England from the Saxons. For many Camelot is symbolic of the beginning of the English royal court, where the first modern values & identity were born, giving England the ability to unite & defend it's lands. This Camelot Chess Set has been designed & sculpted in a style based on the legend of the court of King Arthur. The King is King Arthur, & the Queen is of course, Lady Guinevere. Each figure is hand painted. During the production of our Green & White leather chess board, we use 12mm high-quality MDF, the surface is covered with leatherette with a polyurethane binder. The board's surface is not deformed by colognes, detergent, soap, sweat. It's not recommended using alcohol & acetone for cleaning. The back of the leather chess board is covered with black velvet. Handmade Checkers are made of Boxwood (Buxus Sempervirens). Slow growth of Boxwood renders the wood very hard, heavy, & with fine grain produced by growth rings, making it ideal for chess pieces & checkers. Boxwood does not contain bacteria.
