All bases are U L Certified Regular night light bases have a manual on/off switch. Light sensor night light bases automatically turns on when the room gets dark. Does not work in dimly lit rooms. It needs light to turn off. Rotating night light bases has a swivel base that can turn 280 degrees for placement upside down or sideways. On/Off switch I also give an option of no night light base: You will receive the glass shade & clip. NO BASE WILL BE SENT. This is the option to use when you already have a base that you want to use. Since most people order a night light with a base, the measurements are for night lights that have a base on it. For people who order a night light without a base, please subtract 1 1/2 inches from the measurements listed for the height. That will be the approximate size of the night lights glass shade (without the base). The night light base manufacturer suggests using a 4W or 7W night light bulb. A 4W bulb will make the night light dimmer. A 7W bulb will make the night light brighter. I try hard to have the pictures look exactly like the night light that I am selling, but sometimes the colors will look slightly different on different monitors. I have big night lights & little night lights. Please make sure that the one you pick will be the appropriate size for the spot that you will be using it at.
