Shou Sugi Ban is also known as Yakisugi & traditionally was performed on Sugi wood, which is a Japanese cedar. Sugi Ban is ideal for applications & designs that want the character of wood, with a little more intrigue. Free Engraving ; On rings 5mm or wider you can have your ring engraved at no extra cost. I inlay the engraving with copper which looks really nice & helps the text to show much better in the wood. If you would like to have your ring engraved you can enter your text in the personalization box. See last picture for an example of the engraving. If you have to have your ring resized larger you could lose some or all of the engraving so please be sure on your size. ( Please note, the font I use for the engraving is all capital letters. ) Each ring is crafted by me personally using the Bentwood Method. This is a method of steam bending the wood to orient the grain of the wood around the circumference of the ring giving it superior strength & appearance. The ring is then coated with several layers of a durable membrane & finally polished with a wax polish leaving a beautiful & durable finish. This method is used to ensure a more durable & lasting ring as opposed to many of the standard cut out rings. If you prefer that you ring is more of a satin or semi-gloss finish you can let me know not to polish your ring to the shiny finish. Most rings can be resized up to 1/2 size large or smaller. There is a $30 fee for resizing which will include return shipping inside the US so please make sure to have your ring size checked by a jeweler (usually a free service) to avoid any problems with the size, any ring more than 1/2 size off will require ordering a new ring. Please don't try to get your size with a string wrapped around your finger or with an online printable ring sizer these methods will not work.
