Description

A very nice exhibition poster by Pablo Picasso! The poster displays the artwork "La Source" made in 1921. Pablo Picasso was a world famous Spanish painter, sculptor, poet & playwright & regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. The painting on the poster was on display at the infamous Louisiana in Denmark. Louisiana (Danish Museum of Modern Art) is located in Humlebæk north of Copenhagen. The museum was opened its doors in 1958 & with its approximately 600,000 annual visitors, is one of Denmark's most visited museums & among the ten most visited tourist attractions. Louisiana is a collection of contemporary art, but also an interaction between art, architecture & landscape. Louisiana got his name from court master Alexander Brun, who built a villa on the site in 1855. The villa's name is probably inspired by the three women he married - all three were named Louise. The founder of Louisiana chose to keep the name from the country house he subsequently transformed into a museum. The villa is now a part of the museum.
