This fabric is 36 inches wide & is sold by the yard. Multiple yardages will come in one piece. It weighs about 9.5 ounces per yard. It is 100% cotton. The color in the picture might be slightly different from the actual color. The weaving is really exquisite. I can't imagine how the weaver can do such a complex design with so many colors! It was woven on a treadle loom without the use of electricity in a Mayan town in the highlands of Guatemala. The jaspe or ikat design is dyed into the thread before it is woven. The thread is tied much like tie dying, then the weaver takes that thread & turns it into this gorgeous fabric. Weaving the ikat pattern is truly an art form.
