The originally Roman goddess Libera was the daughter of the agricultural goddess Ceres & wife to Liber, the god of wine & freedom. in 204 BC, a new "Greek-style" cult to Ceres & Proserpina as "Mother & Maiden" was imported from southern Italy, along with Greek priestesses to serve it, & was installed in Libera & Ceres' temple on Rome's Aventine Hill.
