SGK China, Hand Painted Occupied Japan Demitasse Cup with matching saucer. Very pretty set with courting scenes all around. The cup is white on the inside & white at the bottom of the cup. The upper portion of the cup is red with a gold design. On each side of the cup there are portraits of courting scenes surrounded by little gold beads. in between the portraits are flowers & leaves. Gold on the handle. It is hand painted & there is tiny paint loss in some areas but overall in nice shape. There is a black pin point inside the glaze located inside the cup towards the bottom. Measures about 2" tall with an opening at the top of about 2 1/4" wide. The matching saucer has the same design with the portraits & flowers but the outer rim is pale yellow & red/gold. Minor paint wear on the saucer which is mainly found on the gold wreath. Hand Painted. Measures about 4 3/8" wide. Both pieces are fully marked on the bottom. Other than some paint wear, the set is in nice shape & a truly lovely set. Unless grossly misrepresented, we don't take returns. Most of our items are donated & are vintage in nature.
