This vintage Japanese haori jacket would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day. The retro feel of the patterning suggests it might be from the 1950s or 1960s. Get noticed in this bright & bold vintage kimono jacket that is sure to turn heads. (It would also make a lively autumn accent piece on the wall.) Big golden swirls curve against red & a deeper golden background, with a soft white edging that creates movement & depth in the design. Great partywear! Haori do not cross over or tie with a sash, like a kimono does - they are meant to be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn beneath. All of the stitching is hidden (since it was hand-sewn) so technically these haori jackets are reversible. Sometimes the lining is as pretty as the outer jacket!
