A silver 1876 U.S. Seated Liberty Quarter. The design on this years coin included the "arrows" by the date & "rays" above the eagle. The obverse design of the Seated Liberty coinage, designed by Mint engraver Christian Gobrecht & drawn by Thomas Sully, consisted of the figure of Liberty clad in a flowing dress & seated upon a rock. in her left hand, she holds a Liberty pole surmounted by a Phrygian cap, which had been a pre-eminent symbol of freedom. The Seated Liberty portrait designs appeared on most regular-issue silver United States coinage from 1836 through 1891. The coin is approximately 1" in size. It comes shipped in a plastic archival 2" x 2" sleeve. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original as stated.
