WPI tool or yarn gauge. Hand turned from Red Cedar, sealed with Shellac & finished with wax. Overall length: @ 3 1/2" I made a large handled WPI as a custom order for someone with arthritis, who had problems gripping a small handle, & liked it so much I decided to make them a stock item. Comes with a small brass screw eye in the handle, for you to add your own tether, split key ring or just somewhere to hang it on a small hook. This tool is for knitters & spinners etc. & is used to determine the WPI (wraps per inch) of a particular yarn or spun single. Wrap the yarn around the narrow part of the tool & count how many turns there are, refer to the chart (or remember the counts) & you should have the information you need. Could also be hung from a tree as an ornament.
