This listing is for an adjustable stainless steel ring, featuring a beautiful art print sealed under glass. The ring band is 17 mm in diameter, but can be adjusted to a larger size. During his lifetime he was known locally in Delft, but since he didn't produced tons of paintings, & those he did paint were purchased by a local patron, his fame pretty much died with him. Instead of quantity, Vermeer went for quality. He paid extreme attention to detail, & did not hold back from using the exorbitantly expensive pigment lapis lazuli, or natural ultramarine. Vermeer's works were largely forgotten for about two hundred years, & were rediscovered in 1882. While no one knows who the girl in the painting was, it inspired a popular fictional historical novel (also called Girl with a Pearl Earring). The novel then became a movie & eventually a play. The ring comes in a gift box, for safekeeping (or to give as a gift :) Please note that this ring is water resistant, but not waterproof.
