In Greek Mythology are magical sea horses called Hippocampi. Their upper body is that of a horse & their lower body is that of a fish. They pull Poseidon's chariot & rescue sailors from the sea. When I look at this painting, I think about how many times creativity has rescued me. Writing & painting have carried me through when I experienced heartbreak, loss, or a sense of being unmoored.
