The model is made from the bark of the cork oak tree, which grows only in a few countries in Europe & on the Mediterranean coast. The first time the bark is removed from the oak after it is 20-25 years old. in the next ten years, it should be restored. The cork oak is the only tree in the world whose bark is completely regenerated. This material is ideal for depicting all traces of time, as well as the texture of the stone.
