Pikes Peak Mountain Scene Dish My process: I love to hand build pottery. My pottery is made from stoneware clay & fired in a kiln to over 2000 degrees. I use a slab roller to flatten the clay then cut out the shapes. I then press the design into the clay & let it harden. This design is stamped with a stamp I carved myself. After is is dry, I fire it in the kiln the first time. Then it is called "bisque". It is now ready to glaze & fire the second time. The result is the beautiful pottery you see here. As with all handmade pottery, the size, color & shape may vary slightly. Please allow for slight artistic variations. These differences are to be expected & cherished because that is what "one-of-a-kind' is all about.
