This double sided scalenohedral calcite crystal cluster is amazing. On one side of the piece, the base rock is covered with small, translucent, red hematite included, double terminated, scalenohedral calcite crystals. A large, lustrous & translucent calcite crystal has grown on the small crystals. The bottom of this large crystal appears to melt away into the base formation with additional crystals on its tip. The base of this specimen is covered with deep brownish-red scalenohedral crystals, & has a matte finish.
