They search for fitting dresses, shoes & matching accessories such as earrings, rings, or necklaces. & especially appreciate garments that are both beautiful & functional as we always try to make our everyday life more convenient. First, people picked berries & carried them in their hands. Then they realized that long skirts could help with it, & they got more space to carry what they find necessary. However, it would wear out clothes. in the Middle Ages, women did not have many tunics, so they took great care of them. Looking for ways to protect garments, women started to use aprons that would cover dresses & tunics protecting them from stains. Aprons stayed popular through the whole history. People developed special designs, patterns, & used different materials such as cotton, linen, & muslin. Being used mostly by women who cared about their beautiful dresses while cooking, aprons were considered a sign of hospitality. When we were developing our "Fireside Family" collection, we worked on the outfit for each family member. Keeping in mind the importance of aprons, we include them in most of our female collections. "Fireside Family" is a collection of simple & authentic garments. Following this idea, the apron has a rectangle shape & is sewn to a tie. For the apron, we used muslin. This material had been often used by textile industries in Mesopotamia before it was brought to France & Italy in the XVII century. Being long-lasting, breathable, comfortable, soft, light, & ecological, muslin was often used by European tailors. We appreciate these features as well & therefore decided to make muslin aprons. Hopefully, you will see how useful it could be at Medieval festivals. Create a stylish & interesting outfit with the apron & always keep your outfit tidy.
