'Chamber Music' from Manon Lescaut by Alastair. Chevalier Des Grieux stands beside his lover Monon Lescaut while she plays the pianoforte. This original 6" x 9.5" woodcut print is from the early 1930s. It's printed on heavy matte paper & is in lovely condition. It's tanned just a tiny bit to a light ecru color (think pale vanilla ice cream) printed in black ink. 'Chamber Music' would be simply fabulous matted in poppy red & framed in either black or gold. This piece is incredible. Definitely in the same lovely, nefarious realm as Aubrey Beardsley & Harry Clarke. Matted, framed, & displayed as a gallery grouping, these fabulous & weird vintage prints are simply spectacular.
