Across the Flats laser cut quilt kit features a herd of caribou crossing the valley floor after dark with the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) in full view over a mountain backdrop. Caribou are the only member of the deer family where both sexes grow antlers, although the male antlers are much larger. This kit contains the applique quilt pattern & fabrics that match the original pattern cover. All fabrics shown are Hoffman Fabrics batiks. Included are laser pre-cut appliques using Lite Steam-a-Seam 2 fusible web, background fabric, borders & binding. This wall hanging can be made individually or combined with the other four Aurora Nights series of patterns to create a large 42 1/2" x 59" combined wall hanging. The last photo shows the combined wall hanging using all five patterns. Wildfire Designs Alaska patterns are designed for fusible applique, so I recommend that you use an Applique Pressing Sheet. The pattern contains a layout guide, full size applique pattern pieces that are already reversed, & instructions. Although the instructions do not say this, I recommend that all the applique pieces should be sewn down to the quilt top after fusing using the stitch of your choice (straight stitch, zig-zag, buttonhole or satin stitch).
