"Steps" Copper & Sterling Silver Pendant features a 18" Sterling Silver 3.4mm Flat Round Cable Chain & Sterling Silver Lobster Clasp. This is a one of a kind handmade piece by an artist in the Coachella Valley. I created the copper feature by repeatedly annealing (softening) the copper & rolling it through a rolling mill. I particularly like the striation visible on the ridges & the patterning created on the high flat portions as the metal was repeatedly compressed. I cut & filed the copper into shape & formed & fit the circular bale at the top. The copper has been coated to slow the natural patina process of the metal. A Note About Sterling Silver Sterling Silver is a popular metal used in jewelry. With time, Sterling Silver does accumulate a patina (tarnish). On some pieces this patina creates a beautiful aged look, & on other pieces, tarnish on a highly polished surface it may not be desirable. Some household products, cleaners & body chemistry from the skin may accelerate this process. Although there are many effective ways to clean your silver jewelry, I recommend using a polishing cloth to hand clean your piece. Be sure your hands are clean & the cloth is free of dirt or debris or you may scratch the metal as you gently polish. This piece is shipped with a polishing cloth for your new piece.
