This sculpture speaks to the special relationship between mothers & daughters, being held, feeling safe & accepted, feeling warmth & support. I made this piece a long time ago & almost forgot about it. When my mother died last year my grief brought her back in mind: to lean against my mother, to feel her skin, to hear her voice. Whether we are lucky to have this physical memory - or not - this is a basic yearning to find shelter & peace in Mother. The sculpture is 6 inches high, 8 inches wide, & 8 inches deep.
