Button Bush Cephalanthus Occidentalis Button Bush is one of our favorite flowering Florida Natives! The beautiful bush is just covered in button shaped white flowers in the early spring. It is always visited by many bees & butterflies! The flowers smell SO sweet! This bush grows to be 5 to 20 feet tall & 4 to 8 feet wide. It is a long-lived perennial commonly found near marshes, swamps, & floodplains. Button Bush grows well in zones 8-11. Deer love to munch on the foliage while Mockingbirds, Blue Jays & Cardinals love to eat the seeds! Button Bush is a host plant to many moths including the Titan & Hydrangea Sphinx. It makes a great addition to any wet, damp, or moist area!
