Description

I think this large rectangular tin with a hinged lid is from around 1900 based on the fashions of the people depicted on some of the art. The tin is decorated on all 4 sides & the lid, & the images are cityscapes that are almost certainly European. The tin features printing on the lid which appears to be "VREEMDELLINGEN VERKEER" which Google translate says is Dutch & means "tourist traffic". It makes sense that this tin is from Holland, as the collector from whom I got this also sold me a Dutch Drost chocolate tin ( listed separately in my shop). This tin is in fair condition, as the graphics are worn & the outside of the tin has seen some wear. The inside is crisp & clean, with some superficial rust spots, & the lid fits snugly & properly. The tin is about 8 3/4" long by almost 4 5/8" wide & 3 1/4" high, & the inside dimensions are about 8 3/8" by 4 3/8" by 3 1/8". It weighs over 1/2 pound. The graphics appear a little brighter in the photos than the actual tin because of the photography lighting. FREE shipping within the United States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible. For shipment elsewhere, please contact me for a shipping quote.
