They dazzled in color & imagery & have become popular commodities in the international art market. This flag has 20k-28k of glass beads. Vodou flags is an art-form unique to Haiti. Constructed of glass beads hand-sewn onto viscose fabric, one by one to form the image desired. Inspired by myths, legends & unique personal visions, the Haitian flags incorporate ritual drawings, Masonic symbols, saints, pictures of mermaids & more. Vévé: Maraça sacred twins (always shown together); protectors of children & fertility; associated with medicine; sometimes shown as the triplets Marasa Twa.
