Offering a great vintage 10" covered Copco of Denmark in bright yellow color with matching lid designed by Michael Lax. These are highly desirable vintage cookware pieces in cast iron with enameled coatings. Both the pot & the lid are white on the inside. This pot will make a beautiful addition to your kitchen. Condition notes: Overall exterior is in very good vintage condition, without any edge imperfections or chips. There is some loss of the white enamel on the inside & the surface texture of the white not as smooth as others I have had (should not effect use however....price is reduced to reflect condition). overall this covered pan presents well if you are looking for a prop or styling piece. Pot - 10" wide, 12.5" with handles, 5.5" tall with lid Note: Last 2 photos is for scale with a smaller 9" version of the same pot. marked on bottom About Michael Lax: "In 1954, Lax went to Finland, on a Fulbright Fellowship, where he learned Scandinavian modern design. He was hired by Russel Wright, in 1956, to work on a series of dinnerware designs. Lax did freelance work until 1960 when he began to work on enameled cast iron cookware for Copco; this was his first break as a solo designer. Lax designed a line of cast-iron & porcelain enamel cookware for Copco including a 1962 enamel-coated teakettle with a bent teak handle which became one of his most recognizable pieces. More than one million of these teakettles were sold before it was discontinued in the 1980s. Another of Lax's well-known pieces was a low-voltage, high-intensity lamp that he designed for Lightolier in 1965. The lamp, named the Lytegem, had a minimalist design with a cube base & a ball reflector on a telescoping arm. Shortly after its release, the lamp had captured 10% of the market.
