Made to the exact state standards as used between 1921 & the late 1930s in the state of Louisiana. this is one of several variants of the pelican sign in use concurrently from the earliest origins of the highway system, before they switched to the first variant of the map outline style by 1938. The sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout & fonts. It weighs about 8 pounds, 4 ounces, & is the correct size: 18 inches on each diagonal side, so about 25 1/2 inches up & down between corners. This is a high quality sign made of heavy steel. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality.
