These pillow cases are made with Bogolan Mudcloth which is one of the most precious fabrics you could possibly have. They are also hand sewn here in Miami, Florida by a local seamstress. The pillow backing is made of a cotton canvas material. What is the story behind Bogolan Mudcloth?? We source our Bogolan Mudcloth from Western Africa. The fabric is dyed & composed of a thick cotton canvas, spun & woven 100% by hand. A pattern is dyed with fermented mud & other organic dyes. The dyeing technique is 100% organic, free from all kinds of harmful chemicals. Craftsmen draw symbols on these fabrics to tell traditional stories of the peoples of the region. Formerly used by warriors & hunters for camouflage, Bogolan fabric is used today around the world to illustrate its attachment to African culture. This Mudcloth is the perfect complement to the Bohemian-chic room decor. IMPORTANT NOTE: Since it is hand made by craftsmen, therefore, there may be irregularities. Each pillow is unique & may differ in exact pattern BUT that is what is so special! The actual color may differ from the color displayed on the screen.
