VINTAGE MID-CENTURY LADY BUXTON STYLE LARGE 2 TIER JEWELRY BOX - circa 1950's This mid-century jewelry box is large enough to hold all your treasures! MEASURES 14"w x 8.5"d x 4"h OUTSIDE - The outside of this vintage jewelry box is covered in a cream-colored vinyl with 2 gold tone stripes around the front & sides. The top was very worn when I found this at an estate sale by the original owner (see last pic). I covered the top with vintage wallpaper & border to complement the inside red satin. I protected the top with a layer of "ModPodge" clear coating. The front has a gold-tone handle to lift the lid, 2 brass hinges in back & 2 gold-tone handles on the sides. Bottom underneath has 4 gold tone feet in the corners. There are no stamps or labels on this box, but the design resembles those made by Lady Buxton, circa 1950's & 1960's. INSIDE - The lid lifts to the inside lined in red satin. The lid underneath has 6 gold tone hooks for hanging necklaces/bracelets & a gathered apron at the bottom to hold the ends of the jewelry. Top tier has 4 sections, inside measures 13"W x 4.5"D x 1"H. Bottom tier has 3 large sections, inside measures 13.5"W x 8"D x 1.5"H, tall enough to store bangle bracelets, watches & other taller items. GOOD VINTAGE CONDITION OVERALL - the outside vinyl shows some wear, marks & smudges, see pics. The top vinyl wallpaper is upcycled & new. Hinges are all in great condition & open & close the top smoothly. The hooks are in great condition. The satin inside has no rips or tears & the elastic apron is in good shape. Some small smudges & a water mark on lower tier (easy to replace satin with velvet or other material, if desired by new owner). PRICED ACCORDINGLY.
