Vintage Bachmann house kit with original box. This is part of the "Plasticville, U.S.A" series of model train accessories - houses, bridges churches, stores, etc. Bachmann is one of the largest companies that produces model trains & accessories & has been around since 1833. This kit is probably from the 1950s or 60s. I love the look of the box itself & the ranch house design is a classic - one car attached garage (the door opens), large window in the living room - this looks like actual houses in some of the neighborhoods here in Minneapolis that were built up in the 50s & 60s. There are five panels plus a chimney. The side pieces fit together by interlocking the squares on the insides of each panel. The roof panel rest on the top & the chimney fits into the gap in the roof. There are little pieces of lace type material taped to the insides of the doors & windows & you could potentially light this from inside. If you wanted to, you could glue it together permanently. The house measures 3 inches tall, 9 inches wide & 4 inches deep. The box is in good condition. There are some tears on the panels, scuffs around the edges, & the box is bent at the back, & a tear on the inside of the top panel but no major damage. A couple of the yellow panels have some darker areas (I think from the glue used for the doors & windows), but it is hard to see unless you look close. Let me know if you have questions - thanks!
