This is an antique gold, antique replica, of a very rare St. Jude Thaddeus Pray for Us medal. I am blessed to own this original & be able to share with you. This medal dangles on a 2x3mm cable chain with a lobster clasp closure. The back of the medal has "Saint Jude Help of the Hopeless Aid Me in my Distress". The prayer card in photos is included in the gift box. Saint Jude Thaddeus is the patron saint of desperate causes & the patron saint of hope in troubled times. He is the patron saint of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He was one of the 12 Apostles of Jesus & is not the same person as Judas Iscariot. The flame above his head represents his presence at Pentecost. A gorgeous, unique piece with depth highlighted by the antiquing finish. This medal is 1 inch high by 5/8 inch wide. Please contact me if you would prefer a different length chain. This fine replica piece is cast in solid gold bronze using the lost wax method & produced in the U.S.A. The oxidation finishing process prevents tarnishing from contact with air. Excessive skin oils may darken the backside of the medal. It is also best to not wear gold bronze in water. A polishing cloth is included so the medal can be polished to the original appearance. You would not damage the medal by contact with water since it is solid gold bronze (not a plating), but it may darken & need additional polishing.
