But did you know that until 1930, the company produced mainly traditional wood furniture in historic revival styles? This circa 1920 nightstands is one of the finer examples of early Herman Miller craftsmanship. It features solid wood construction with burled walnut veneer, inlaid wood marquetry, & exquisitely carved moldings & ornamentation. The top of the night stand displays a field of burled walnut bordered with mitered satinwood & decorated with a half-round federal period fan ending in feathers. The night stand includes one dovetailed drawer & one door with brass floral knobs. The drawer has intricate floral swag marquetry, & the door has a Greek key border. The night stand is by four legs, the front two carved with acanthus leaves. The night stand measures 29.25" tall, 16" wide, & 16" deep. The night stand is in good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age. in particular, please note the water spots & wear on the top's shellac finish. Please see photos for more details.
