SAPHIRET BUYERS PLEASE note that ALL of my saphirets are GENUINE & are NOT fake. I had the good fortune to acquire these wonderful, very OLD & original saphiret cabs/stones & am passing this savings on to you. PLEASE READ the description thoroughly: You are purchasing 72 pieces or 1 gross or 144 NAVETTE or Marquis SMOOTH Top, flatback unfoiled cabs measuring 10 x 4mm. Please keep this size in mind when purchasing. These are true unfoiled saphirine/saphirets from the late 19th or early to mid 20th centuries. Saphirines/Saphirets are some of the most amazing glass stones due to how the position of light either directly or lacking is reflected within the glass due to the addition of gold to sapphire colored glass. I have provided a few pictures of several pieces, with the center picture taken in the sunlight. The two pictures to the left were taken in late afternoon indoor light while the 2nd photo from the far right was taken indoors with filtered early afternoon light. A few have been turned over revealing the unfoiled backs. Note the color shift in the glass. in regular indoor or night time light these appear to be OPAQUE mauve stones until they are moved or backlit then the blue glass shows through. These will be randomly pulled & some will have more blue within them while others will appear more opaque or having more of a gold mix. The uneven gold distribution is likely due to the manufacture process. Some prefer more blue in their glass while others prefer the mocha.
