Every year for Golden Week, people in Japan display flying carp streamers in honor of Children's Day. Each color of the streamers represents a different member of the family. The dark blue/black is the father, red is the mother, light blue is for sons, & pink for daughters. However, we've also added green & purple so you can create a rainbow to show off your pride as well! Our original Koi pin design was initially available in dark blue or red.
