Description
1941 Football Player Award Pin. Rare Roosevelt High School. Chicago Estate. Chicago has a Roosevelt High School, named in 1928 for Theodore Roosevelt. The word "Roosevelt" was engraved "by hand" by the maker. I have seen a couple of other examples of these sports pins, & they also had the name engraved like this. Am guessing the company was small & did not have the fancy engraving equipment. Or, since this was made during WWII, many of the factories were serving the War efforts & had ceased normal functions. Not sure, but at any rate, it is a scarce vintage pin, & a nice sports collectible. WEAR & TEAR on the metal finish, see photos for the best details, including size. 1941 Football Player Award Pin.
