Vintage Middle Eastern Camel Canteen, Tri colored, Rare, Ottoman Drinking Vessel, Ornate Design. These Middle Eastern canteens were & still are used when traveling across the desert by camel. They actually fit in camel saddle bags. This rare vintage three toned copper canteen is in great condition, with 2 missing copper leaf drops & it is missing it's cap. One very hard to see ding on the front & it is hammered copper therefore it does have hammer marks on the backside. Approx. dimensions are, 10" all (18" from top of handle to bottom of copper drops), 6 1/2" Wide x 3" Deep. The cotton rope is blue yellow & cream & secured with copper wire. The spout has a floral design with a rope of copper around the bottom of stem. The body of the canteen is a star pattern with floral designs & a copper rope edging. The sides have a scrolling pattern. The back has Middle Eastern design & has a makers stamp all done in rose copper, gold copper & silver copper. The bottom has 5 copper leaves with floral & scroll designs & hang by a copper chain. This is by far the most extravagant & beautiful piece of workmanship I have seen & very rare as well.
