Arts & Crafts Cast Iron Paperweight Paper Weight Bradley & Hubbard 6037 Flowers Chevron Geometric Pyramid 1880s Antique Beautiful cast iron paperweight Very good vintage condition but does have a small notch missing out of one of the sides Paper weight stands 2.25" tall & measures 3" square From the Smithsonian Institute Preservation collection catalogue: Paper Weight, ca. 1880, cast iron. H. 2.25" x W.3" x D.3." SI.1999.042., cast iron, ca. 1880 The overall form is that of an eight-sided pyramid shaped body with an octagonal knob on top. A geometric chevron design is cast into the short sides & a stylized floral design is cast into the long sides. Although not marked, it matches item #6037 in a ca.1880 Bradley & Hubbard salesman's catalogue in the collection of the Meriden Historical Society, Meriden, Connecticut. It was produced with either a Dark Verde or Extra Gilt finish.
