This is a set of Astor by Poole Vintage Salt & Pepper Shakers. They are vintage silver plate with LOTS of patina. It is the Bacchante pattern with grapes decorating the top & a lovely Art Deco shape. This is a beautiful vintage pair of salt & pepper shakers. They have a lovely shape & gorgeous even gray patina. They were used, there is some white oxidation on the inside of the caps & the shakers. The shakers are approximately 5" tall & almost 1.75" wide across the long part of the oval base. These are an estate find & they are close to antiques in terms of age. They are stamped on the bottom & marked SP for silver plate. They are in "as found" used condition, no attempt was made to polish the silverplate so they may or may not be able to be restored to polished silver. That said, the silverplate has a nice amount of sheen & the pair is evenly tarnished making this set a look more like aged pewter, a dark battleship gray. They have minor nicks & surface scratches but are overall in very nice condition. Please review photos for condition. I have lots of fun items at EclecticTrashPanda.
