Noritake Stoneware Sunset Mesa Dinner Plates & Salad Plates Sold Individually Dinner plates measure 10 3/8" diameter Salad plates 8 1/4" diameter These coupe dishes are made of a high quality Stoneware in Noritake's concept 1 shape. They have a pink & taupe band around the edge. They were first introduced in 1985 & remained in production until 1997 Noritake opened up their first factory in 1904 in Noritake, a small suburb of Nagoya, Japan. The goal was to create Western style dinnerware that was suitable for export. The first exported piece went out in 1914 & they have been setting the standard & even raising the bar in the dinnerware industry ever since.
